What is a prep center?

A prep center is a warehouse that provides preparation of your commodity in order to be accepted for further fulfilment on marketplaces of your choice.

Goals of a prep center:

· Receiving commodity;

· Inspecting the commodity to exclude defected or wrong units;

· Consolidation of packages from different suppliers in one bulk batch;

· Proper preparation according to conditions and rules of a fulfilment marketplace;

· Printing and applying labels;

· Bundling

· Packaging of a commodity to ensure it’s integrity and safety during transportation;

· Commodity storage.

Stages of a prep center workflow:

1. Receiving a notice from your side that your supplier/retailer have sent products to us;

2. Receiving and inspection of a commodity to make sure it is intact, matching the ASIN and ordered quantityо;

3. Processing of a commodity and its entry in software systems;

4. Preparation of a commodity according to ASIN;

5. Packaging of a commodity for further shipment to Amazon Fulfilment Centers;

6. Handing over packed and consolidated commodity to the carrier service;

7. Displaying package movements in software systems.
